Quesadillas or Burgers? Let’s combine the two! Today we’re firing up the grill and making delicious quesadilla burgers. They’re full of flavor, packed with a kick of heat, and real easy to do!
Aside from summer backyard barbecues, we enjoy hamburgers in several different ways. From without the bun to a nice hearty potato roll, and even with grilled tortillas!
Hamburgers are something we grill at least once a week. They’re a simple weeknight meal that comes together quickly. Because we cook them often, we like to create new recipes using simple ingredients.
Today’s quesadilla burgers have a nice kick of heat, plenty of cheese, juicy flavor, and will hit the spot when you want something different!
Spicy Burger Recipe
To make the quesadilla burgers, we’re going to break out the Texas Pete® Original Hot Sauce and a few other of our favorite toppings.
Rather than simply topping our burgers with spicy ingredients, we’re taking it to a whole new level — Adding Texas Pete® Hot Sauce directly to the ground beef.
Adding the hot sauce to the ground beef gives our spicy burger recipe a whole new depth of flavor.
Thin Burger Patties
As you know quesadillas are really thin, so how can we make a thin burger? My first secret is a binder.
Add an egg to the mixture will help bind the hamburger patties together. Mix an egg into your burger meat, and you can make super thin burgers without them falling apart.
My second secret to thin burgers is to use a rolling pin! Create 5 inch balls of ground beef and flatten them out into disc shapes. Finish thinning the patties by using a rolling pin.
The patties should be about 1/3rd of an inch thick with the center of the patties thinner than the edges.
Texas Pete® Hot Sauce
So we talked about binding the beef to make thin burger patties. Now it’s time to talk about adding the heat! Everyone loves spicy food and you don’t need to be a top chef to be a part of the Texas Pete® Tribe.
Aside from Texas Pete® Original Hot Sauce, I’m also adding Texas Pete® Green Pepper Sauce on top of the burgers for added pizazz!
Katie decided she wanted even more, and you know.. Happy wife happy life, right?
Yes, it’s edgy, awesome, and perfect for summer cookouts.
Heck, you can even add Texas Pete® to takeout food to kick it up a notch! Join the tribe and make these quesadilla burgers extra flavorful!
I picked up a sweet 4 pack of Texas Pete® products on Amazon, you can also find their products at a store near you check out the product locator here.
