Pizza in any form is always a hit in my house. My kid loves to eat it, and I love preparing yummy pizza for them. But I cannot make the same pizza for a Christmas party and expect my kids and friends to be excited about it.

That’s why I thought of making Christmas tree-shaped pizza. This festive snack is fun to make and is a perfect small-bite appetizer.

You don’t have to worry about making a tree in perfect shape. Instead, you can simultaneously arrange the pizza dough balls on a baking sheet and spread cheese all over them. You will love how amazing the oven-fresh pizza flavors have turned out.

Steps to Making Pizza with Puff Pastry

I have divided the homemade pizza with puff pastry into different steps so you can easily prepare it at your home without any mistakes.

Step One

The first thing you need to do is purchase good-quality puff pastry. Take the puff pastry sheet out of the packet.

step1-Pizza with Puff Pastry

Then add tomato sauce, cooked ham, and parmesan cheese on its top to make easy puff pastry pizza.

step2-Pizza with Puff Pastry

For the flavors, you can sprinkle oregano and grated cheese. Once done, carefully roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into slices.

Step Two

The last thing you need to do is give your stuff puff pastry pizza the right shape. So, take a baking tray and add a piece of parchment paper on its top. The paper will stop your puff pastry cheese pizza from sticking to the tray.

Then arrange the puff pastry pizza slices on the tray to form a Christmas tree shape. Put the tray in an already-heated oven for 20 minutes. Serve with your favorite dips, and enjoy.

Key Notes:

  • You can make yummy homemade puff pastry pizza variations. Add small pieces of olives or pepperoni while filling the mixture in the puff pastry.
  • If you don’t like tomato-base in your pizza, replace it with basil pesto. This simple change will make your cheese pizza puff taste a lot different.
  • If you cannot make a good Christmas tree with the puff pastry pizza rolls, arrange them in a rectangular shape. The taste will not change.
  • You can add different veggies to your super-baked pizza, like bell pepper, corn, and jalapeno. Besides this, you can add other veggies as well. Just try to dice veggies as small as possible so they can perfectly fit into the dough.
  • Before adding the veggies to the puff pastry pizza dough, place them on a paper towel to eliminate their extra moisture. If you don’t do this, your puff pastry pizza bombs might get soggy.
  • Cut the puff pastry pizza into equal slices, so they look even when you place them on the baking tray.
  • You can add garlic to the puff pastry pizza fillings to give a roasted garlicky flavor to your dish. The puff pastry pizza will rise in the oven, but after you take it out, it will get flat.

What to serve with Christmas tree-shaped pizza?

Enjoy mini Christmas tree pizzas with marinara and pizza sauce. Or make cranberry sangria or cranberry mimosa to serve with the cheesy pizza.

How to stop puff pastry pizza from turning soggy?

If your puff pastry dough is too soft, the pizza will turn out to be soggy. So, keep the pastry dough in the fridge for a while. Then take it out, add fillings, and immediately put it in the oven.

Similarly, if you don’t want the bottom of your puff pastry pizza twists to turn soggy, add a coat of beaten egg at the bottom. The egg will seal the dough, keeping it crisp from the bottom.

Can I refrigerate puff pastry pizza?

If you have made puff pastry pizza in a larger quantity, you can store them. Transfer the puff pizza into an airtight container and keep it inside the fridge. This way, your pastry will stay good for up to 3 days.
