Fall Home Decor Leaf Dish

This fall home decor project is fun and easy. Make a small leaf dish with just a few materials, and it won’t take a ton of time either.

You can make this dish as big or as small as you wish.

The leaf impression adds a wonderful texture and look to this piece.

Prepare Workspace

Start by laying newspaper out on a good size work area.

The newspaper will help protect the surface of your work area from the clay and paint we’re going to apply.

Work The Clay

Now that we’re ready, let’s work the clay.

Grab a chunk of clay, a handful is good, and roll it into a ball in your hands.

Place the ball down onto the newspaper.

Use the palm of your hand and fingers to flatten it out to 1/3rd of an inch. No need to be exact.

With your hands, press the leaf into the clay. You want to leave a nice impression in the clay from the leaf.

Remove the leaf from the clay once you have your impression. Feel free to discard the leaf or save it for another project.
