Plated Taco Salad Recipe

This is a quick and easy Plated Taco Salad Recipe. We whipped this up in about 15-20 minutes. We had been making this type of taco salad without the spices and it never really hit the spot. Adding this mix of spices really did the trick! Heck I might even work it into our hamburgers next time! Anyways, I hope you enjoy this Taco Salad as much as we do!

1 teaspoon olive oil
1 plum tomato
1/2 lb ground sirloin
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
2 oz baked tortilla chips (about 28 chips)
1 romaine heart, chopped
2 tablespoons lite or low fat sour cream
1/4 Tostitos salsa


  • Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat
  • Add ground sirloin, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper and garlic. Cook 6 to 8 minutes or until beef is browned, stirring occasionally.
  • Divide tortilla chips evenly between 2 plates; top with lettuce, tomato, ground beef, Salsa and Sour Cream.
