Ingredients
2TablespoonsOlive oil
1White or yellow onionchopped
3TablespoonsGarlicminced
1TablespoonDry basil
1TablespoonDry rosemary
1PinchRed pepper flakes
Salt & pepper to taste
1TablespoonButter
28ozCrushed tomatoes(1 can)
¼cupWater
1PoundGround beefBrowned on the stovetop
Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Saute onions in olive oil until fragrant and translucent
Add garlic and cook for about 60 seconds.
Add basil, rosemary, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. Stir in butter, tomatoes, and water until well combined
Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes
Brown ground beef in a seperate pan, drain, season to taste, stir into the sauce
Serve over cooked spaghetti with a sprinkle of Parmasan cheese
Notes
Use a submersion blender before adding beef to the sauce for a smoother texture.As an alternative to ground beef, use browned ground turkey, tofu, or other filler if preferred.
