Apple Pie Bars

Ingredients

cups all-purpose flour
2
tablespoons granulated sugar
1
cup cold butter, diced
2 - 3
tablespoons ice cold water, if needed
For the filling

apples, peeled and sliced
1
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1
cup granulated sugar
1/2
teaspoon ground nutmeg
3
tablespoons cornstarch
3/4
cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
Place the flour, sugar, and butter in a bowl to make the dough.
Stir in some water if needed to form a dough.
Place ⅔ of the dough on a baking tray and top down to make it even.
In another bowl, mix the peeled and sliced apples, ground cinnamon, granulated sugar, ground nutmeg, and cornstarch and mix until combined.
Top the filling on the prepared dough in the baking pan.
With the remaining ⅓ of the dough, crumble it together with chopped walnuts and top on top of the filling.
Bake in an already heated oven at 350 F for about 40 minutes.
Let it cool completely before serving.
