Increase Your Garage Door Security
When it comes to making your home more secure, the garage door is an area that many people overlook.
There are lots of strong entryway doors and window security systems. But, not a lot of ways to make your garage door more secure.
Thankfully, here are three easy ways you can increase your garage door security.
Block the windows to your garage
If your garage has windows, be sure that they are frosted or painted black.
This will discourage curious criminals and thieves from looking inside to see what type of expensive tools, automobiles, and other goodies you have stored away.
It’s very simple to add a frosted film over the windows in your garage door. They have many different colors, textures, and designs that will for the design of your home.

Use a smart garage door opener
Using a garage door opener can increase your garage door security because it locks the door when it’s down.
Both Genie and Chamberlain are good brands of garage door openers in my opinion.
With a smart opener, you will receive an alert on your phone if someone tries to force the door open.

They even have smart door monitors that sound alarms when the door is opened while it’s activated.
Add motion-detecting floodlights
Burglars prefer to operate in areas where they won’t be seen. With a motion detecting floodlight, the area will be illuminated as soon as it detects motion.
This can discourage even the most determined burglar.
If you don’t have electricity outside of your home, there are many solar flood lights available that will operate as long as they get enough direct sunlight.
Don’t forget your back door! Adding the window film and placing motion-activated lights at the back door is just as important as protecting the front doors of your garage.
These are a few steps you can take to secure your garage and protect your belongings.
