In a skillet, heat 2 tbsp olive oil over medium heat.
Chop smoked sausage into ½-1 inch slices.
Cook over medium heat, 6-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until cooked through and beginning to crisp on all sides. Set aside.
In a large soup pot, heat remaining 2 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes, until onion is turning translucent.
Pour in vegetable broth, and add cannellini beans. Bring to a boil.
Add in pasta, sausage, and seasonings. Boil for 5-7 minutes, until pasta is just al dente.
