DIY Pen Gift Box
Now let’s make our DIY pen holder gift box. It’s a simple pen gift wrapping idea that will thrill whoever you give it to. A great way to store pens when not in use, and it will look great in someone’s office, bedroom, or anywhere. These make great, functional decor pieces, too!
Materials
- Hinged box of your choosing
- Craft foam (1/2 the depth of the box)
- Rubber cement or other glue
- Fabric of your choosing
- G2 Pens & FriXion ColorSticks by Pilot Pen
Step 1
Measure the inside dimensions of your box and cut the craft foam to size – slightly smaller than the inner dimensions to allow a little room for the fabric.
Step 2
Carve out areas for your pens to lay into the craft foam in one of the foam pieces. Do this by laying the pens on the foam and marking the ends and side with another pen. Then use a razor or utility knife to cut a V shape into the foam, about 1/2 way through the foam. Leave the other foam piece un-carved.
Step 3
Cut your fabric long enough to wrap completely around the foam pad. Think of it like wrapping the foam pad like a Christmas gift!
Step 4
Place the fabric, design side down on your work area. Place the foam with the carved-out side face down on the fabric. Wrap the fabric around and secure it to the backside of the foam using rubber cement or craft glue of your choosing. Allow the glue to dry completely.
Repeat for the piece of foam that will go into the top of the box.
Step 5
Apply glue to the backside of the foam/fabric and place it inside the box. Glue both the top and bottom pieces of fabric wrapped foam into the box. Allow the glue to dry and then place the pens inside.
Step 6
Now, all that is left to do is place a bow on top and gift it with a nice leather journal!
The G2 has four-point sizes, smooth gliding ink and comes in 27 attractive, bright, and vibrant colors. I love the fact that the G2 has multiple barrel styles, comfortable grip, and long-lasting gel ink – it makes gifting super easy.
The FriXion Ball Color Sticks Erasable Gel Pens by Pilot Pen are another ideal option for gifting this holiday season. If your recipient is anything like me and has horrible penmanship and erase often, they’ll find the FriXion ColorSticks not only write fearlessly but also erases cleanly and effortlessly. No more stressing over mistakes – write, erase, write, and erase again until it’s just right.
This pen gift wrapping idea is really a winner and will impress!
