Brine Your Turkey Or Not!

If you’ve never done a turkey brine before, why not try it this year? But let it be known, there’s no need to brine these turkeys, as they come pre-brined already. Bringing them will make them way too salty. However, if you’re going to give brining a shot, prepare now and you’ll have the juiciest turkey in the neighborhood! Check out this turkey brine recipe to learn how to brine your very own bird for Thanksgiving.

Everyone Loves The Dark Meat

Everyone, with the exception of my wife, loves turkey legs. If you’re having a big family gathering this turkey day, make sure to splurge on some extra drumsticks — have them cooked and ready to go. Everyone will be extra thankful you did!

No Turkey? No Problem!

It’s not unheard of for families to 86 the turkey and go with another bird of choice. Goose or duck is excellent to serve your guests.

BYOF – Bring Your Own Food

Have a special dietary restriction or just don’t eat meat? Aside from chowing down on sides, you can always bring your own food. Bring enough for everyone and no one will be the wiser — unless you’re one of those people who like to spread your veganism everywhere you go…. Don’t be that person.

Don’t Diss The Chef

Seriously, stuff happens. Birds get burnt and dry, fruitcake is… served, and the mac and cheese side is all but a pile of mush. It’s all good. Yes, you did skip breakfast in anticipation of this meal, but it’s about spending time with friends and family. Be thankful for what is edible and enjoy the company!

Offer To Help Clean Up

After stuffing your face, wouldn’t it be a nice gesture if you offered to help clean up? At the very least, take clear your dish and rinse it off. Often times we’ll offer to help clean up and get a “no need I’ll take care of it later” type response. That’s fine, at least you offered, right?

Whatever you do, don’t bring up politics! Nobody wants to hear about politics on a day of thanks! I mean c’mon, do I really even need to include this in these Thanksgiving tips? You know better, I know better….but I guess a lot of people don’t. Just don’t.

Now, go enjoy Thanksgiving with your family!
