Oktoberfest Kebabs and Beer Sampling

Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa Kebabs

To make these kebabs for your Oktoberfest party, we’ll start with a package or two of Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa, a colorful array of bell peppers, small tomatoes, large onion, salt and pepper, and skewers.

Slice your peppers; we used green, yellow and red peppers.

If need be, slice your tomatoes to the desired size. We used small plum tomatoes and cut them in half.

Pro Tips:

  • Soak your wood skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling
  • Use tin foil as a heat guard or risk burning your wood skewers to a crisp!

For the beer tasting, we’re sampling Oktoberfest beers from local breweries to find out which local brewery we will reign the champion of Oktoberfest beers.

In order to make this an un-biased and oh-so-professional beer tasting study (ha!), we’ll have a designated beer wench who will keep track of which beer is which. The beer will be in beer glasses and the bottles hidden from sight. We cleansed our palates with Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa kebabs and German pretzel bread, which we picked up at the bakery, between beers – moderation is key to a good Oktoberfest beer tasting!

Once we’re done taste testing Oktoberfest beers, we’ll all share our opinions and the beer wench will declare the winner! Or at least that was the idea… Of course when tasting beer, grilling kebabs, and joking around with friends; at the end of the day no one can remember which beer was better – they were all great and we all had fun! Great friends, great food and great beer, that’s all that counts!

Hillshire Farm® is always our go-to for Kielbasa and Rope Sausage. We use  Hillshire Farm® Rope Sausage and Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa several times each week. Sometimes with our eggs for breakfast, and we always put some in our pasta sauce and heat it up on the stove top for spaghetti night! Kebabs are just one more way we enjoy Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa and Rope Sausage. Next time you’re at Walmart, make sure to hit the refrigerated section for some Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa!
