Saturday always seems like boring lunch day in our house. Does it seem that way in your house, too? We need to change that, STAT! I recently came up with a delicious honey ham and cheese dipper recipe that has transformed our weekend lunches forever! These dippers are a perfect light lunch. If your family is feeling extra hungry, these ham and cheese dippers go great with a bowl of Zuppa Toscana soup, too!

Our ham and cheese dippers are a great way to bring homemade flavor back into your weekend lunch routine. I know for us, the past year was literally the year of bland weekend lunches. We’re recommitting our household to homemade this year and starting with this fun ham and cheese recipe; what’s more classic than ham and cheese, right?

When we come home to take a break from exploring, we need to refuel with a delicious lunch. But we want more than just a sandwich, it has to be something quick, easy and delicious. Queue the honey ham and cheese dippers, a nice hot meal for the whole family! Do yourself a favor though, get a nice quality ham. I suggest the Castle Wood Reserve® Honey Ham.

Okay, let’s get to our family time, homemade ham and cheese dipper recipe. These are perfect for a nice hot lunch on the weekends, and you can get the kids involved in making them too! These dippers are a perfect way to bring the family around the table for a weekend lunch.

Ham and Cheese Dippers Recipe

As you all know, we love our simple and delicious recipes and this one holds true. If your family loves a classic ham and cheese sandwich, like ours does, you’re going to love these honey ham and cheese dippers!

Ingredients to make Ham and Cheese crescent dippers

Ingredients

  • 5 slices of Castle Wood Reserve® Honey Ham; chopped
  • 3 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls; rolled out, pinched and cut into 2.5″ squares
  • 1 egg; beaten
  • Honey for drizzle

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and prepare baking sheet with parchment paper. Roughly chopped Castle Wood Reserve® Honey Ham and two slices of provolone cheese; set aside.  Prepare crescent rolls by rolling flat, pinching triangles together and cutting into 2 1/2 inch squares.

Cut or tear 1 piece of provolone cheese to fit on about 1/4 to 1/2 of each square.

Add chopped ham and cheese to each crescent roll.

Ham and Cheese Lunch Idea

Lightly drizzle ham and cheese with honey. Fold each square diagonally and pinch edges together. Brush tops of dippers with beaten egg.

Bake for 8-11 minutes or until crescent rolls are lightly golden brown; serve warm with dip (recipe below).

While your ham and cheese dippers are baking, we need to make the dip! This dip is super-simple and goes perfectly with our ham and cheese crescent dippers.

Ham and Cheese Sandwich Dippers

Garlic Mayo Ham & Cheese Dipper Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbs ketchup
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon seasoned salt

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to a bowl and whisk together.
  • You may store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a couple of days

Mayo and Ketchup Dipping Sauce for Ham and Cheese Dippers

Now that the dip is made and the honey ham and cheese dippers are fresh out of the oven, let’s dip in!

These honey ham and cheese dippers really are a simple and delicious hot lunch for the whole family. A new way to recommit to having a homemade lunch that’s exactly what everyone loves.

 

Of course, to make a delicious ham and cheese dipper you must choose premium quality product at a great value retailer, like Walmart. We found the Castle Wood Reserve® products right in the deli area coolers, near the produce section.

Aside from Castle Wood Reserve® Honey Ham, I also grabbed a pack of Castle Wood Reserve® Virginia Brand Smoked Ham and Castle Wood Reserve® Oven Roasted Turkey Breast. It’s always good to grab an extra pack or two of different varieties.

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls; rolled out pinched and cut into 2.5" squares

    Looks great! Will modify a bit for my crew as they do not care to mix savory and sweet. Thinking a dijon, lemon, garlic combo. Castle Wood Reserve product line is spotty at best in my area, and will have to substitute accordingly. Will serve as posted for my next girls night in, they will love it, with a nice glass of vino!
