I don’t know about you, but when the holidays begin to creep up on us I try to become as prepared as possible. Not that that’s saying much, but I do like to do a little holiday prep. Today I’m testing out an easy holiday cookie recipe.

This recipe is so easy in fact, you likely already have everything you need to make these cookies right in your kitchen.

Simple Holiday Cookie Recipe

Back to this wicked easy holiday cookie recipe. Whether you like to serve red and green holiday cookies the day after Thanksgiving or like to wait until closer to Christmas, these are a perfect sweet treat to share with family and friends.

This recipe has only 3 main ingredients and optional candy or sprinkles — you can whip these cookies up in less than 30 minutes.

Easy Holiday Cookies

3 ingredient holiday cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick plus 2 tbs butter 10 tbs at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • Optional – Holiday Sprinkles or Candies

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
  • Beat butter on medium speed until creamed, add dark brown sugar and continue beating until well combined.
  • Mix in flour on low mixer setting.
  • Form cookie dough into 1″ balls using lightly floured hands. Place them 2 inches apart on a parchment lined or non-stick baking sheet and press lightly until they’re about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
  • Add holiday sprinkles
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes
