Apples! Apples as far as the eye can see! It’s apple picking season and everyone has at least 1 sack full of apples straight from the orchard just waiting to be used in a new recipe! We’ve made apple jam this year and now we’re making apple cinnamon cookies! These cookies are a great way to celebrate fall, and make a perfect gift too!
Today we’re making a batch of apple cinnamon cookies and gifting them along with an American Homeâ„¢ by Yankee Candle® Apple Cinnamon Cider fragrance for the perfect fall inspired gift. These cookies are soft, tasty and filled with apples – just like grandma used to make!
You can put together this gift for any special occasion. Gift to someone who needs a little cheer in their life – think friends, neighbors, co-workers, teachers and more!
Apple Cinnamon Cookies Recipe
Gather your ingredients. I like to pre-measure all of my ingredients and have everything ready to go. Otherwise, I’m bound to forget something. No one wants apple cinnamon cookies without cinnamon! 🙂
Grab your electric mixer, or better yet break out your stand mixer and beat together your egg, sugar and cream cheese. Beat on a medium speed until it’s light and thin, about 2 to 3 minutes should do.
On the stir setting, or with a large spoon, stir in flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda until everything is well combined
Fold in apples with a large spoon.
Drop cookie batter onto your parchment paper prepared cookie sheet by the teaspoon full, roughly the size of a quarter, about 2 inches apart. I like to add or rearrange the apple pieces so there are some facing skin side out in the batter, it gives the cookies a bit more color.
Bake in the oven as directed in the recipe card below. Once baked, remove cookies from the baking sheet and cool them on wire rack. There’s no need to wait once taking them out of the oven, you can move them immediately.
Reserve some cookies for you and your family and then pack the rest in a gift for someone special! Find out how we’re gifting these delicious homemade cookies – keep reading!

Notes
Now that we have our cookies baked, we can pick out the perfect American Home™ by Yankee Candle® to complement them. There are a lot of fall fragrances to choose from, including the American Home™ by Yankee Candle® Apple Cinnamon Cider fragrance, which I think is absolutely amazing and complements these cookies perfectly.
You could also go the pumpkin route with this gift and include the American Home™ by Yankee Candle® Homemade Pumpkin Pie candle!

Fall Gift Idea
Now that we’ve made our cookies and talked about our favorite candles, let’s create our gift package! Of course, since our cookie batter makes up to 30 cookies, we’ll set some aside to share with family, and of course Katie will bring some to work for her co-workers to enjoy. We’ll add a bunch of cookies to our gift basket along with an American Homeâ„¢ by Yankee Candle® Apple Cinnamon Cider candle.
I found this nice basket, perfect for gifting. Stuff it with fall colored tissue paper and other little fall decor things – I found a bundle of faux fall flowers, feathers and other things at Walmart.
Simply place the candle in the tissue paper…
Next, add the cookies, stack or lay them in a nice and organized fashion.
Now you’re ready to deliver your fall gift basket!
Bonus – Safety Reminders
- NEVER leave your candle unattended while lit.
- Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface and keep it away from drafts.
- Make sure the candle wicks are cut 1/8 of an inch to ensure the flame is not too large
- When you burn your candle, allow the entire top layer to become a fragrant pool of liquid wax to get the biggest, boldest fragrance possible.
- When only ½ inch of the wax remains, it’s time to let your candle go.
Once the candle is used up and completely cooled off, place the candle in the freezer for a few hours. Once the remaining candle wax is frozen, remove the wax from the candle jar with a spoon. You can reuse the candle jar for crafts, gifting and more!

I’m glad you enjoyed them! 🙂
Very quick, easy and absolutely delicious.
Who wouldn’t love this gift basket? I m printing out that cookie recipe right now- and I always have my favorite Yankee Candle fragrances on hand for the holidays! My favorite has to be Balsam Fir, since we live in Southern California where that’s not a ‘typical’ fragrance. #client
