A Dude’s Guide to the Perfect Vacuum Cleaner
Let’s face it guys, when it comes to chores around the house we need to have a say too. Buying a vacuum cleaner may seem simple, but we need a vacuum cleaner that will make things easier for us. Eureka has solved two of my biggest vacuuming pet peeves with their new Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® vacuum cleaner. #CleaningUntangled #CollectiveBias
A Dude’s Guide to the Perfect Vacuum Cleaner
- Powerful suction
- Multi-surface (tile, hardwood, carpet)
- Array of attachments
- Long attachment hose
- Long electric cord
Little did I know this was an actual thing, but the Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® has a feature that cleans off the brushroll automatically. Really. It untangles all the hair, dust, yarn, twine and what ever else gets sucked up and wrapped around the brushroll. So this is definitely going on my check list – I really dislike yanking hair and crud out of the brushroll of the vacuum cleaner. You know what I’m talking about!
- Automatic Brushroll Cleaner
The Old Piece of Junk Vacuum Cleaner
Between pet hair and girl hair, the brushroll on our old vacuum is pretty much useless after running it through a couple rooms. Don’t get me started on the cruddy “adjustments” made to go from carpet to smooth floors, “click clack clack” it never works right, and going from hardwood to area rugs? Forget it, just “push n’ pray” and don’t look back.
– “Honey? Did you vacuum the area rug in the bedroom?”
– “Yup! Sure did, babe.”
– “Hmm. It sure doesn’t look like you did…”
Another thing I didn’t like about our old vacuum, is how it spit sand and pebbles everywhere when you vacuum on hard surfaces. You could turn off the brushroll, but it seemed like more of a PITA than it was worth. Sometime’s I’d just leave the brushroll going. That meant when I vacuumed the hallway, where everyone wipes their shoes and tracks in sand, dirt and pebbles, my ankles would get ambushed by flying debris.
The old vacuum loved scattering dirt, sand and pebbles everywhere, even with the brushroll turned off. I know you know the feeling. Vacuuming the sand and dirt in the entry way only to have your ankles sandblasted like a rusty antique fender at the body shop. There must be a better way.
The New Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® Vacuum
This gem made the cut for a new vacuum for two main reasons. It solved my biggest vacuum pet peeves. This Eureka vacuum comes with a long electrical cord and a long attachment hose! Finally! These two reasons alone make this vacuum stand out above the rest.
The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal®, available at Walmart, also has a way to easily clean the brushroll from all the hairs that inevitably get tangled up in it. Yes, this means cat hairs, girls hairs and even Sasquatch hairs if you have one of those fellas living with you. You just turn the brushroll on and push the foot lever, it cuts all the junk free from the brushroll and sucks it into the vacuum, like magic, I tell ya!
The suction seal plates also provide the perfect amount of suction whether you’re on carpet, hardwood or tile. There’s no spitting of debris when you glide across the hard surfaces. The adjustment is simple and smooth – no click, clack – clacking to get it adjusted!
A Long Attachment Hose
A long attachment hose is a must for a vacuum cleaner. Vacuum cleaners with short attachment hoses really bug me. If you have 9 foot ceilings you know what I’m talking about. Heck, if you have 8 foot ceilings you know, too! A vacuum with a short reach attachment hose is pretty much useless when it comes to drapes, ceiling fans and ceiling corners.
If you want to vacuum the tops of your window treatments or get that stray cobweb out of the corner, and have a vacuum with a short attachment hose you’ll have to pick up the vacuum with one hand and wave the other frantically at the cob web to try to vacuum it up. Admit it, you’ve done it before!
The solution: Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal®
The new Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® comes complete with a 12 foot — yes, twelve foot attachment hose! This is an awesome feature and has me completely sold on the vacuum. With the 12 foot hose, you can finally reach the top of your windows and the corners of your rooms without having to do some weird yoga positions and balance the vacuum cleaner on your head just to reach everything.
Long Electrical Cord
The other thing that really irks me, a vacuum with a short electrical cord. I don’t like having to switch outlets 10 different times just to vacuum the house. The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® comes equipped with a 27 foot — YES, twenty seven foot electric cord as well! This thing will go anywhere you need it to and you’ll have to unplug and plug in less frequently as you go.
Bonus: The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® also has an auto rewind feature for the electric cord, so you can forget about those little twist tabs and winding the cord up yourself – the vacuum cleaner winds it’s own cord up.
Eureka Brushroll Clean™
There’s nothing grosser than fiddling with a brushroll that has been tangled up with dust bunnies, hair and who knows what else. The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ technology takes care of this task just by pressing a foot lever. Press the foot lever while the vacuum and brushroll are on and the hair is cut from the brushroll – it’s like magic!
Cleaning the brushroll with the ease of the Eureka Brushroll Clean™ foot lever allows you to move through the house, from one end to the other and pick up every piece of hair and dust from every nook and cranny possible without having to tug out a clump of tangled mess from the brushroll — or turn off the vacuum for that matter.
Having the ability to clean the brushroll as you go also means the likely hood of accidental pet hair ingestion will be reduced significantly. You know what I’m talking about – that stray pet hair making it’s way onto your dinner plate – blah.
The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ also takes care of those long girl hairs. I think the old vacuum brush has had hair tangled in it for months now. It’s impossible to get it out! However, with the Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal®, tangled hair in the brushroll is no longer a problem!
After all the stray hairs from girls and pets, another reason this Eureka made the cut is it’s ability to move from one floor surface to another without problems. The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® gives you the ability to turn off the brushroll and has suction plates which assure that the proper suction on various surfaces.
The suction plates and AirSpeed technology allows the Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® to keep the perfect air speed depending on the surface you’re vacuuming. This gives you a full range of options and allows you to vacuum surfaces from heavy carpets to tile and hardwood.
These features mean you can move from carpet to hardwood and tile and your ankles won’t be sandblasted by dirt and pebbles when you hit that spot where everyone wipes their feet when they enter the house.
Attachments & Warranty
The last two things to cover on my checklist are attachments and warranty. These are important, but to me less important than some other things. The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal® comes loaded with some cool attachments and combined with the 12 foot attachment hose, you’ll have no problem taking care of the entire house – from top to bottom.
One of my favorite attachments and probably one you’ll love too is the Stair and Upholstery Turbo nozzle. It’s like a mini-vacuum head with brush and all that fits on the end of the attachment hose. The brush is run by the suction of the vacuum and creates a lot of power.
It’s ironic that it’s called the Turbo nozzle, since our cat’s name is Turbo and he’s the primary reason we’d need such an attachment. Turbo loves to sit in the white recliner and there’s usually a fair amount of cat hair on the seat after he’s done taking his cat naps. This Turbo nozzle makes quick work of the cat hair on the furniture. It’s also good to get into those tight spots where you cant fit the entire vacuum cleaner, like stairways.
The warranty seems like a standard warranty – it’s a 3 year limited. Meaning if you chuck it out the window, they won’t help you. But, if something is wrong with the vacuum originating from manufacturing process or faulty parts, they’ll help you out.
Win your own!
